Description

NGC 4565 is an edge-on spiral galaxy 30 to 50 million light years from Earth. Located in the constellation of the coma of Berenices, it was first observed in 1785 by William Herschel and represents an interesting type of spiral galaxy seen from an angle.
In absolute terms, the galaxy is even brighter than the Andromeda Galaxy, although the belonging magnitude is 10.42 (due to the distance) and has a peculiar internal bulge whose nature is not well understood.
This photo was achieved during an intense integration night, where three completely new and somewhat different setups were optimized within a few hours. In my Eq6-r  we put the beautiful schmidt newton 10 "class f4 of my friend Claudio Fiore; at the same time Michele Russo has optimized a vintage style setup formed by the historic Vixen VISAC 200 and the Vixen SP-DX mount (with Synscan Eq5 motorization). To these is added an Omegon RC8 reflector, which gave us some problems in post production due to the orientation of the spikes with respect to those of the VISAC.
